We really wanted our summer shoot to look and feel like we were away at a resort, so we patiently waited until the weather was just right, which is always such a coin toss in Perth at this time of year (as it could have quite easily have been a 40 degree day!) Luckily for us the weather was warm and sunny with a hint of cloud - which is perfect combination to produce the best quality photos - so we got the timing just right!
We chose the Steve's Residences for our location - you would assume we were at a private retreat due to the old Hotels' grand facade, landscaped gardens and the beautiful oversized waterfall pool looking out onto the Swan River. You would never expect to find this grand dame nestled in the leafy suburb of Nedland's just a mere 10 minutes away from the Perth CBD.
Our new collection is a big one... This season we are all about providing options allowing everyone to create their unique and personalised stacks. This summer the new collection boasts over 50 new pieces added to the range. There is a strong emphasis on bright colour and playful motifs along with our signature star range expanding wider than ever before. Sarah thoroughly enjoys the design process of mixing and matching complimentary colours and design and we hope that shines through.
We loved this wall as a backdrop against the magenta Leo Lin two piece.
Sourcing the clothing for the shoot was really fun, the brief was "LUXE" and we were able to bring in a mix of on-trend summery colours, beautiful textures and fabrics from linens and silks to convey the 'feel' we were going with. We had our good friend Claudia from Mariko's Boutique helping us with the garments and Conor Adams for hair and make-up. We wanted our model to have an on-trend aspirational look with big pillowy lips, long bouncy hair and an even complexion to showcase the jewellery beautifully. We felt extremely lucky to find local Perth model Tess Motuzas who fit the brief perfectly - from the moment the camera starting clicking she was so professional and an absolute delight to work with.
The day began inside the residence to capture photos of Sarah our owner & founder. For this the brief was 'new age business woman' in a power suit.
Caitlin Ruth our photographer was able to direct Tess in the various locations of the shoot - to ensure each piece of jewellery was looking its best whilst also highlighting the beautiful clothing and background. We were incredible lucky to stumble upon a glam chaise lounge which we used for Tess. It was amazing to witness Caitlin as she directed and captured beautiful shots of Tess that had us all saying "ooooh & aaahhh" and her magic touch, weaving each location into the next to make each location feel connected to each other yet uniquely different, and just as importantly, allowing each piece of jewellery have it's moment and capture the specialness of each design.
